Dartmouth IGERT faculty member Mary Albert, PhD, is attending Nuuk Climate Days 2009 in Nuuk, Greenland, August 25-27, 2009. She will be presenting two papers at the FreshNor symposium, one aspect of the meetings. One paper is on polar fir as a natural repository of atmospheric composition and a second paper is on the Dartmouth IGERT PhD program in polar environmental change. The training of a new generation of scientists and engineers in an interdisciplinary perspective has created a great deal of interest in Greenland and elsewhere. A new cohort of IGERT students starts at Dartmouth in Fall 2009, and they will travel to Greenland for a month next summer to copmlete a field study seminar in Nuuk, Kangerlussuaq, and Summit Camp.
