Rohan's interests include biodiversity conservation and its ties to humanity. During his internship he will help build and monitor the use of fuel-efficient stoves that reduce the need for wood by about 70% in a country where less than 10% of the original forests remain. These stoves will also improve the livelihoods of natives who will need to dedicate less time to collecting fuel wood. To further improve
livelihoods, Rohan will help construct a secondary school to provide children with facilities where they can be educated out of poverty, in rural areas where the average family lives on less than $1 per day. He will help supplement this education by teaching children basic environmental science and English.
