The Dickey Center for International Understanding is a campus center for the promotion of teaching, research and open dialog on international issues. Our visiting fellows program enhances this endeavor by bringing to Dartmouth scholars and practitioners to interact with faculty and students, both in and out of the classroom, and to conduct research on international themes.
Fellows are selected to spend a minimum of one term and up to a year in residence at Dartmouth, researching and writing about international issues. Scholars from all disciplines and practitioners from the worlds of science and medicine, policy, journalism and humanitarian assistance are welcome to apply. While at Dartmouth, fellows are expected to participate in seminars and colloquia relevant to their area of interest, and to work towards the completion of a scholarly monograph or similar project. Fellows may be invited to teach by co-sponsoring departments.
The Dickey Center Visiting Fellows program is made possible in part by the generous support of William M. Glovsky and the Glovsky Family Fund in memory of Ruth and Abraham Glovsky, created to encourage academic research in and teaching of alternative dispute resolution through interdisciplinary study of the differences among peoples and the motivations, consequences and possible resolutions of conflict between them.
