Faculty Workshops: Global/Local Interactions Print E-mail

Global/Local Interactions

This series is cosponsered by the Dickey Center for International Understanding and the Department of Geography at Dartmouth. The theme for the 2009-10 Global/Local interactions seminar series is The Colonial Present, The Global Past and is being convened by Professor Mona Domosh of the Geography Department.

The aim of this series is to bring together scholars who offer empirical and conceptual insights into the presence of the “colonial’ in contemporary struggles over place, nationalities, land rights, and biodiversity, with scholars who show how the concerns about contemporary globalization – its impacts on workers, consumers, places and environments – have deep historical roots.

The schedule of speakers will be posted in Fall 2009.
