The Dickey Center provides a limited number of funding oppportunities for graduate and professional school students.
The Institute of Arctic Studies supports a fellowship in polar environmental change for PhD students in earth sciences, ecology and evolutionary biology, or engineeing. This interdisciplinary program of courses, seminars, workshops, professional development, and Greenland field work, is an Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) funded by the National Science Foundation. The program is currently not accepting new students, but the program's acitivites continue. Check with the departments for graduate funding for polar study and research. Learn more
The Giesel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the Dickey Center are collaborating to offer three electives to fourth-year medical students interested in global health care and research. Electives are available for Vietnam, Tanzania, and resource-limited settings. Learn more
The Dickey Global Health Initiative offers medical, graduate, and joint-degree students an opporunity to conduct mentored research with global health reseachers from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The goal is to train the next generation of global health researchers by working directly with researchers at their international field sites and with in-country partners. Learn more
The Richard D. Lombard Public Service Fellowship supports up to a dozen recently graduated students (undergraduate or graduate) each year to undertake public service projects in the United States and around the world. Graduating seniors and first-year alumni from any level of study at Dartmouth are eligible. Learn more
