Dartmouth's first Global Health Day is a showcase of student global health activities and experiences being undertaken across the undergraduate, graduate and professional school campuses. The goal of Global Health Day is to feature the rich diversity of global health work being done in different disciplines and engage students in discussions around contemporary issues in global health. 

The day will feature a keynote speakers, poster presentations, global health photography, global health student group fair, careers panel and concurrent breakout sessions covering a broad range of global health topics.

The Panel will be facilitated by Dr. Lisa Adams, Faculty Director, Global Health Initiative and Associate Dean for Global Health, Geisel School of Medicine.

Essay, Poster and Photo Competition Submission Guidelines

Essay Competition

Over the years, students, have reflected on their global health experiences.  Through writing, sharing, listening, and storytelling we can begin to derive clarity about the injustice we witness, embrace the complexities of the lives we touch, decipher the ambiguity of moral judgment in widely divergent cultural contexts, and imagine constructive action in response to our experiences. All current undergraduate, graduate and professional school students are invited to submit reflective essays in response to global health experiences- these may be in a research, educational, clinical, or service capacity.  Please highlight the impact of your experience on professional development, personal growth or new insights you have gained into cross-cultural or ethical issues.

Poster Competition

Students who have had global health experiences over their time at Dartmouth are invited to submit a poster for display at Global Health Day! Posters should detail your global health project, research or experience and adhere to the critera outlined in the pdf Poster Guidelines. Abstracts will be printed and distributed at Global Health Day and Cash Prizes will be awarded to the top three submissions. Limited funding is available for printing upon request.

Enter the Global Health Photo Contest and have your work displayed in the Russo Gallery outside the Dickey Center during Global Health Day! Photos will only be accepted by enrolled Dartmouth students.
