Our Great Issues Scholars program has wrapped up another year, with 115 first-year Dartmouth students completing a full year of programming centered on the world’s most pressing challenges. Four former Great Issues Scholars returned to help run the program as student assistants.
Across 35 events, this year’s cohort met with journalists from the New York Times, visited Dartmouth’s ice core lab, participated in global crisis simulations, and explored the Hood Museum of Art and the Rauner Special Collections Library. Faculty and practitioners working in global security, global health & development, and the Arctic & environment joined our scholars for conversations that brought the curriculum to life.
With this cohort, the Great Issues Scholars Program now counts more than 1,700 Dartmouth alumni among its participants since launching in 2010. The program is generously supported by the Russo family.
