We’re thrilled to see Esmeralda Abreu Jerez ’25 as one of this year’s Rhodes Scholars. During her time at Dartmouth, Esmeralda demonstrated exceptional dedication to both global and local community health, beginning her journey as a Great Issues Scholars and later becoming one of our Global Health Fellows.
Esmeralda founded the Women’s Health Committee and raised funds for medical expenses for local dairy farm workers with the FUERZA Farmworkers’ Fund and organized with the Student Workers Collective at Dartmouth.
Esmeralda will pursue two master’s degrees at Oxford: an M.Sc. in Global Health Sciences and Epidemiology and an M.Sc. in Health Service Improvement and Evaluation. We wish her all the best at Oxford.
