Launch gURLs & Global G.L.O.W -  For undergraduates interested in an experiential entrepreneurship program that enables adolescent girls to build critical 21st century life skills in order to develop and access future focused resources.

Two Remote Internship Opportunities:

Curriculum Development Summer Associate

This intern will help support girls’ successful transition from school to work through activities and information that engages and energizes girls. This Curriculum Development Summer Associate will partner with our team to write the content for the Girl Boss in a Box program, which includes content for the book as well as digital platform. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of girls and wants to take time to co-create a program that meets girls’ needs with them. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct primary research (interviews and focus groups) with girls to better understand their goals, interests, and current behaviors to develop a program that engages and excites girls;
  • conduct secondary research on entrepreneurship curriculums and girl-focused future resources
  • Develop book chapters and digital platform content for a minimum viable product of Girl Boss in a Box, which will be launched in the fall
  • Structure and scaffold information, activities, and resources to enable desired skill-building and learning outcomes
  • Coordinate with our Girl Squad to co-create materials and receive feedback
  • Work closely with the UX Designer to deliver content across paper and digital mediums that engages girls and effectively delivers information

Relevant Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous curriculum development and / or teaching experience preferred
  • Creative mindset with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work individually and collaboratively with flexibility, enthusiasm, efficiency, and diplomacy in cross-cultural environment
  • Able to handle multiple priorities, multiple deadlines, and be flexible and responsive in addressing the needs of a fast-paced environment; self-starter and internally driven
  • Most importantly…. passionate for global gender equity and improving the lives of adolescent girls around the world

 

Marketing, Communications and Virtual Engagement Summer Associate

This intern must be passionate about making a difference in the lives of girls around the world through engaging and inspiring branding and communications and building a robust online community. Specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Identify and build a team of girls to support the marketing and communicationsCreate a marketing and communications plan for the Girl Boss in a Box MVP pilot; work directly with girls to make sure these plan are co-created and girls voices are heard
  • Design a marketing campaign for Girl Boss in a Box with measurable goals and outcomes
  • Identify best ways to engage and manage online communities; work with our team to create an engagement and retention plan for the pilot
  • Develop a marketing and communications orientation and onboarding session for girls
  • Create needed marketing collateral for fundraising and campaign(s)
  • Dedicate time to mentoring girls about successful marketing and communications campaigns

Relevant Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous marketing, communications, PR experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Extensive knowledge of social media and different communication channels
  • Creative mindset with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work individually and collaboratively with flexibility, enthusiasm, efficiency, and diplomacy in cross-cultural environment
  • Able to handle multiple priorities, multiple deadlines, and be flexible and responsive in addressing the needs of a fast-paced environment; self-starter and internally driven

Internship Specifics

Location: Virtual

Duration: 40 hours a week as soon as possible through September 2, 2020 (number of hours per week as well as start and end dates can be flexible based on candidate)

FUNDING

The standard grant for a remote internship is $1500, meant to help defray expenses while student is engaged in internship opportunity.
