Marketing Intern

The marketing intern will use digital content in various mediums to tell stories with the aim of reaching the widest possible audience. Interns will have a hands-on experience with creating content that will range from non-profit endeavors to creating assets for international campaigns, and will be exposed to the African Marketing industry and the creative arts. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Creating multimedia content for both social media and blogging platforms. This includes video editing, animation, audio production or blogging. 
  • Using content management systems like WordPress and Sqaurespace 
  • Content editing, including editing video, podcasts and images
  • Assisting in implementing paid and earned media strategies
  • Managing influencer marketing campaigns
  • Content Management System use and editing
  • Campaign reports

Relevant Experience and Requirements

  • A laptop or desktop (Windows or Mac) with an active Adobe Creative Suite subscription/installation capable of running the software capably
  • Mac users who use Final Cut may also apply. However, experience with and access to Photoshop and Lightroom are necessary (Adobe Illustrator is a plus but necessary)
  • Applicants should also have access to and experience with audio editing software such as Adobe Audition. Sony Soundforge, GarageBand or Logic
  • A desire to learn and use remote workflow solutions like Atlassian, Monday and Google Suite
  • Writing and Editing Skills in English
  • Desire to learn about Content Marketing

Location: Virtual

Duration: This job will not have a fixed hourly requirement. However, the applicant should be prepared to work at least 20 hours a week. Depending on workload the intern may be required to work and be available on weekends.

FUNDING

The standard grant for a remote internship is $1500, meant to help defray expenses while student is engaged in internship opportunity.
