Program Information

JSEP and JASE are unique opportunities for students to work in multicultural teams and explore polar science in some of Earth’s most remote environments, Greenland and Antarctica. All student expenses are covered by a grant from the National Science Foundation. You can learn more about each program here.

Joint Science Education Project (JSEP)

Each summer, students from Denmark, Greenland and the US spend two weeks in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland for the Greenland-led Kangerlussuaq Science Field School and a week at Summit Camp on the Greenland Ice Sheet.

Joint Antarctic School Expedition (JASE)

In conjunction with the Chilean Antarctic Institute’s Expedición Antártica Escolar (EAE), US students join Chilean students for activities in Chilea and Antarctica.
