Allyson Block

Student Programs Intern

Allyson hails from a small town in Upstate New York. A Geography and Spanish Major, she is interested in public health and health access in underserved communities. These interests met two summers ago, during her time working at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center where she uncovered a passion for healthcare reform and immigrants' rights. Most recently, she explored this interest at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. On campus, Allyson is a UGA in the Global Village, a Human Development Fellow, and a War and Peace Fellow. She is very excited to be an intern for the Great Issues Scholars program this year and looks forward to hearing from a new cohort of passionate scholars.
