Alwaleed Abdeen has over four years of experience in digital marketing, project management and youth empowerment; he is an Ashoka Changemaker Scholar and Alumni of both the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program and Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Center East Africa civic leadership track. Alwaleed previously worked at Sudan Startup Hub the 1st Sudanese co-working space and business incubator in the role of project manager and online community manager where he developed the I Know Business Workshops and initiated and co-created Womenomics Sudan, an open platform for women to discuss, share, and explore opportunities and challenges relating to their business, careers and personal development. Alwaleed is the founder of Ya Zool Events which aims to gather all the events relevant to Sudanese people in one place; in addition, he is the founder of Ya Zool For9a Network (Opportunity Network) which aims to empower and raise the capacity of youth by providing information, opportunities and stimulate innovation, participation, and cooperation among all members of the Sudanese community. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Alwaleed plans to continue using his business and entrepreneurship skills to create innovative solutions in order to impact skills development and job creation for one million Sudanese.
