Auxence Muhigwa has over five years of experience as a social entrepreneur and supply chain specialist. As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Youth Emancipation and Development (CYED), he produces high quality and cholesterol free soybean cooking oil. This product addresses health problems in his community associated with high cholesterol cooking oils that are imported. Auxence has been involved in many youth-led and youth entrepreneurship initiatives such as International Kalambo Youth Agripreneurs (IKYA, IITA), Union de Producteurs de Soja du Kivu (UPSKI), AEPAD, and Vijana-Grace (V-G). He holds a master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University in Uganda. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship and the Professional Development Experience, he plans to position CYED as a leader in the production of high-quality soybean and sunflower oil in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, reaching more than 20,000 households in five years and expanding the business to five provinces.
