Belisa Rodrigues holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, a postgraduate diploma in Management, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, where she was awarded the Old Mutual Gold Medal for Academic Excellence. Once the business manager of the African Arts Institute, she was previously general manager of Arterial Network, a continent-wide advocacy body of artists and cultural activists present in 40 African countries. Currently, she runs a management consultancy, Belle & Co, focusing on policy, training, and research in the African creative and cultural industries. Belisa serves on the board of the Association for Visual Arts. She is a ministerial appointee serving on the National Arts Council of South Africa, and is the elected treasurer of the Music in Africa Foundation, a pan-African portal for music and archives. In her spare time, she loves running.
