YALI Curriculum Program Assistant 

Invo Chami is from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and is an Economics and Women & Gender Studies double major at Dartmouth. Before Dartmouth, she received her International Baccalaureate Diploma from the Armand Hammer United World College where she was a member of the student council and an HIV/AIDS peer educator. Invo has volunteered for a variety of NGOs in Tanzania, including the Bumbuli Development Cooperation, Let’s Read Tanzania and Projekt Inspire, an initiative to provide young students with career guidance. At Dartmouth, she was the President of the Dartmouth African Students Association, a Great Issues Scholar at the Dickey Center for International Understanding, facilitated the Management and Leadership Development Program for the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and Leadership, and was a Rockefeller Leadership Fellow her senior year. She has interned for Deloitte East Africa as well as Ideas Expo Botswana, a marketing firm started by a 2014 Dartmouth Mandela Washington Fellow, Tumiso Mabusela. Invo is interested in the intersection of design thinking and development, and hopes to be able to build a career combining her interests in design, gender and storytelling with entrepreneurship and economic development.
