Raffiq Nathoo ‘87 is a senior finance professional with significant experience in the strategic & financial advisory and private equity investment businesses, including 22 years at Blackstone and, before that, Salomon Brothers Inc. Mr. Nathoo specializes in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other strategic transactions and has served as a trusted advisor to corporate CEOs, CFOs, Boards of Directors, and Principal Investors on a variety of sensitive and complex assignments in North America, Europe, South America and Asia.  Much of this work has centered on assisting clients in efforts to build and protect shareholder value. Over the course of his career, including 14 years as a Senior Managing Director of Blackstone and leadership of the firm’s energy, power and utility / infrastructure advisory practice globally, Mr. Nathoo has overseen or led the origination, development and execution of numerous merger and acquisition transactions as well as strategic and financial advisory engagements. He has also worked extensively with leading companies in other industries including in the consumer products, healthcare, financial services and industrial sectors, among others. Mr. Nathoo received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Community Trust as well as the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. Mr. Nathoo was born in Tanzania and spent his early years in East Africa, where both his parents and grandparents were raised.  He now makes his home in New York, and is married with three children.
