Trip Davis

Executive Director, Office of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer (OETT)

Trip Davis is the executive director of the Office of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer (OETT) in the Provost Division at Dartmouth College. Trip oversees Entrepreneurship programs and spaces through the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN), including the new DEN Innovation Center & New Venture Incubator, as well as Technology Transfer for Dartmouth-originated intellectual property. He serves as Dartmouth’s representative on and chair of the Board of Trustees of the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center (DRTC). Prior to returning to Dartmouth in 2013, Trip served as senior associate dean for external relations and president of the Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Also at Virginia, Trip served as co-faculty director of the Galant Center for Entrepreneurship. Prior to his appointments at Dartmouth and Virginia, Trip was an entrepreneur in travel technology. Named one of the top 25 most influential executives in the travel industry in 2002 and 2007, Trip served as the CEO of two technology services firms. In 1995, he co-founded San Francisco-based Green Room with two Dartmouth classmates to deliver web development services to travel companies and sold the company to iXL in 1998. In 1999, he joined TRX, a travel processing and data analytics company, as its first CEO. He served as CEO for nine years through 2008 and chairman through July 2013, building the company to 2,000 employees in 5 countries, completing its IPO in 2005 and sale to Concur Technologies in 2013. Trip is an angel investor, limited partner and board member in a number of funds and new ventures – all of which were started by Dartmouth or Darden graduates. Trip earned his BA in English from Dartmouth College in 1990 where he was a varsity sailor for four years and MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 1994.
