Great Issues Scholars, Student Assistant

Uma is a Quantitative Social Science major from Oyster Bay, New York. She sings with the Dartmouth Rockapellas, interned through the Rockefeller Center First-Year Fellow program at Save the Children US, and facilitated the Dartmouth Leadership, Attitudes, and Behaviors program for first-year students. At the Dickey Center, she was a Great Issues Scholar her freshman year and now serves as a mentor for the program. In the Fall of 2020, she interned with Launch gURLs, a global organization focused on the empowerment of adolescent girls through entrepreneurship and digital skills, through the Dickey Center Remote Partnered Internships program. She hopes to continue working in roles that combine her data analysis and visualization interests with her passion for female empowerment and social justice. At the Dickey Center, Uma looks forward to working with students to help them navigate Dartmouth opportunities, particularly through the Dickey Center, to best fit their current interests and their future goals.
