About

Human Development encompasses many fields including human rights and security, health equity, financial inclusion and job creation, environmental protection, good governance and citizen engagement, and more. The Dickey Center supports students and faculty working as they seek solutions to the complex problems underlying global poverty and other forms of deprivation worldwide.

The Dickey Center will not be taking new aplications for Human Development Fellows in 2021-22. We will continue our strong support of the 2020-21 HD Fellows cohort accepted in Fall 2020.

The Human Development Initiative

The objective of the Dickey Center's Human Development Initiative is to:

  • Inspire and invest in Dartmouth undergraduates who will become leaders in the diverse fields of human development.
  • Convene and support practitioners and researchers who are creatively tackling development challenges.
  • Amplify and broaden Dartmouth's impact in human development by building partnerships on campus and across the world to make broader impacts on global poverty and human rights.
