As we mark the passing of a truly extraordinary pioneer and tireless advocate, we think back fondly to 2008 when Dr. Jane Goodall visited Dartmouth as a guest of the Dickey Center. Her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees provided a clear lesson: Empathy is universal. That commitment to and respect of ‘the other’ lies at the heart of the Dickey Center’s work to promote international understanding. A vital message then as now. May her memory be a blessing.
