Alea Kahele ’27 at work at the Kluane Lakes Research Station in Yukon, Canada. As part of her Stefansson Fellowship, she’s been engaged in outreach work with the Kluane First Nations (KFN) and Champagne and Aishihik First nations (CAFN) while also conducting research on quantifying snow, ice, and river concentrations of “forever-chemicals” like PFAs. Her research is overseen by Erich Osterberg, Professor of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth, and is carried out in partnership with the University of Maine.
