Working with Professor Emily Blanchard. Emily Paulin is supporting a project exploring how global production networks shape economic resilience and national security. By partnering with a frontier supply chain intelligence firm with an unprecedented map of firm-to-firm global transactions, this research combines unique private-sector data with academic modeling to identify how shocks propagate through supply chains and how firms and governments respond. Under the supervision of Professors Emily Blanchard and Rob Johnson, the work advances statistical evidence on the vulnerabilities and strengths of globalization, with direct implications for U.S. and international policy debates over trade, security, and resilience.
Emily graduated with high honors in economics from Princeton University in 2025. Her research interests include trade, development, political economy, and environmental economics. Her senior thesis examined the effect of the Paris Agreement on carbon emissions in developed and developing countries, winning a prize for the best thesis in international economics. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, reading, and listening to music.
