Jonathan Smolin is Faculty Coordinator of the Middle East Initiative, which is a collaborative effort of the Dickey Center and the Middle Eastern Studies and Jewish Studies Programs at Dartmouth and is part of the Dartmouth Dialogues. He is an Associate Professor of the Middle Eastern Studies program at Dartmouth, where he has taught since 2005. Prof. Smolin’s areas of expertise include politics and popular culture in the Modern Middle East, mass media in the Middle East, Israel-Palestine, and Modern Arabic fiction.
