Previously, she was a Morgenthau Fellow at the International Security Center, University of Notre Dame, and a Predoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies, George Washington University. She holds a BA in law and politics from University College Utrecht and an MPP from the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University.
Eun A studies the democratic origins of nationalism and their implications for international relations in East Asia. Her dissertation "Nations After Democracy" looks at how South Korea and Taiwan narrate their pasts as democracies and the impact these national stories have on their foreign policy today. Her research has been published in International Organization.
At the Dickey Center, Eun A will focus on converting the dissertation into a book. In addition, she will develop several ongoing projects, including one on the politics of recognition and Taiwan's UN membership.
