Kelly Matush

U.S. Foreign Policy and International Security Fellow

Kelly Matush earned a PhD from the University of California, San Diego in 2018. Her research examines the ways in which leaders use international public diplomacy to manipulate positive and negative reactions in foreign publics to their political advantage. While at the Dickey Center, she will be working on a book manuscript that utilizes a combination of formal modeling and fine-grain public opinion data to analyze when leaders decide to engage in international public diplomacy campaigns, as well as the effects of these efforts. She received a BA in Political Science from Texas A&M University in 2010.
