Sabelo J. Ndlovu-Gatsheni, Professor/Chair of Epistemologies of the Global South at the University of Bayreuth in Germany.

Eman Shaban Morsi, Asst. Prof. of Middle Eastern Studies, Dartmouth.

Moderated by Ayo A. Coly, Professor, Comparative Literature and African and African American Studies

Join eminent scholar Sabelo Ndlovu-Gashenti in conversation with Dartmouth Professor Eman Morsi as they discuss the challenges of studying colonization and decolonization of Africa and of the Global South. Decolonization is a revolutionary act, yet escaping from the power dynamics of colonialism - even in scholarly work - is tricky. Come hear strategies for seeing Africa, and the Global South as more than the sum of their colonial histories.

Cosponsored by the Dickey Center for International Understanding and the African and African American Studies Program. Part of the ’Round the Girdled Earth Series.
