Course Enhancement Grants

The Dartmouth Initiative for Global Security at the Dickey Center for International Understanding is offering small one-time grants to support faculty in introducing or enhancing course content related to international security. Preference will be given for enhancements related to DIGS mission: "to generate and disseminate new knowledge of critical importance to global peace, and to prepare the next generation of leaders to create policy impact in a complex security environment, marked by a return to great power competition, civil wars, and novel emerging threats."

Course Enhancement Grants

Examples of possible course enhancements include honoraria and/or accommodations for guest speakers, compensation for assistants in class simulation exercises, field trips, or purchase of materials for course projects related to global security.  

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.  Applicants must be instructors teaching approved Dartmouth courses between Spring 2022 and Spring 2023 terms. Applications must address the following criteria:

Proposals should:

  • Supply course details, including syllabus.
  • Outline, in no more than a page, the proposed activity or other enhancement, specifying how it helps advance Dartmouth's Initiative for Global Security at the Dickey Center's mission.
  • Detail a budget with a maximum award of $3,000.
