Based on the bestselling book Poisoned: The True Story of the Deadly E. Coli Outbreak That Changed the Way Americans Eat, Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food has been called, "A shocking indictment of the food industry and its regulators." The 2023 Netflix documentary exposes how decades of apathy and malfeasance have left the American food supply and its consumers vulnerable to deadly pathogens like e. Coli and salmonella.

Fod safety advocate Dr. Darin Detwiler lost his 16-month-old son Riley to E.coli during the 1993 Jack in the Box outbreak.

This event is co-sponsored by Geisel's MPH program, and part of Dartmouth's National Publich Health Week.
