REMOTE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Curriculum Design Intern:

Terra Firma International is looking for an innovative and passionate Curriculum Design intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with marginalized youth as well as an interest in education and counselling. The Curriculum Design intern will work with the Terra Firma team two complete two specific projects:

The first will be the creation of an online learning module to familiarize child protection staff with common experiences and stressors that unaccompanied refugee children in Europe face. This will be published on DisasterReady.org in partnership with Johns Hopkins University.

The second project will be the preparation of counselling materials to be used by Terra Firma's guidance counsellors in Greece. These will be developed using literature on best practices for counselling at-risk youth and studies on unaccompanied refugee children's experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience making visually engaging teaching materials.
  • Translating academic literature into accessible training materials
  • Comfortable creating content using Canva, Powerpoint, iMovie, or similar programs

Requirements:

  • Understanding of and dedication to fulfilling the Terra Firma's mission and ethics.
  • Familiarity with challenges faced by at-risk youth (relevant coursework or field experiences ideal)
  • Excellent written and media skills
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

 

Opportunity: Fundraising Intern

Terra Firma International is looking for a passionate fundraising intern eager to join our team and help expand operations with refugee youth in Greece. The fundraising intern will help maintain and update our database of grants, philanthropists, and open calls. The intern will work with the team to draft applications, network with potential donors, and find opportunities to scale up our impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and updating grant and donor databases
  • Coordinating application timelines, working with Terra Firma staff to complete funding applications
  • Networking with potential donors on behalf of Terra Firma
  • Seeking out new opportunities to help Terra Firma scale up its impact

Requirements:

  • Understanding of and dedication to fulfilling the Terra Firma's mission and ethics.
  • Exceptional organizational and management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-driven, motivated

INTERNSHIP SPECIFICS

Location: Virtual

Duration: 8-10 weeks. 30-40 hours a week during Summer term. (number of hours per week as well as start and end dates can be flexible based on candidate)

FUNDING

The standard grant for a remote internship is $1500, meant to help defray expenses while student is engaged in internship opportunity.

To be eligible for funding you must have an "L term" status with the college.
