ABOUT
YALI Regional Leadership Centers form part of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a signature effort to support young Africans as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa. Established through public-private partnerships, the Centers offer an experiential learning program for young Africans in three tracks: public management; civic leadership; and business and entrepreneurship. Four Regional Leadership Centers (RLCs) have been created in Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa to serve as regional hubs across the continent to encourage transformational learning and enhanced leadership skills. The RLCs are a collaborative effort between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in close partnership with the MasterCard Foundation and other private sector partners. Each RLC is managed under a public-private partnership.
The Southern Africa Center (RLC- SA) is located at the University of South Africa School of Business Leadership (Unisa SBL) in Midrand and is overseen by the University of South Africa. The RLC SA serves the following Southern African countries: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the Seychelles.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Intern will work under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to support in the planning, designing instruments and data collection based on the program Results Framework. YALI RLC-SA is looking for a candidate who is seeking monitoring and evaluation experience in measuring the quality and effectiveness of program implementation.
Specific responsibilities include:
The purpose of the role is to assist the center to build its mentorship program. The Mentorship Program Developer intern will assist with strengthening of the mentorship program of the Center, that aims at providing support to alumni as they work to positively transform society.

The purpose of the role is to support the Center to roll out its post-training capacity building events for alumni. The Events Coordinator intern will support the Continuous Learning component of the Alumni Relations Unit.

Location: Virtual
Duration: 8-10 weeks. 30-40 hours a week during Summer term. (number of hours per week as well as start and end dates can be flexible based on candidate)

FUNDING
The standard grant for a remote internship is $1500, meant to help defray expenses while student is engaged in internship opportunity.
To be eligible for funding you must have an "L term" status with the college.
