The lessons of the war on COVID mustn't be forgotten as the U.S. moves on from the pandemic.

Kendall Hoyt, the faculty director of our Pandemic Security Project and co-author of the Covid Crisis Group's "Lessons from the Covid War," has an op ed in Fortune with a warning that the lessons of the war on COVID mustn't be forgotten as the U.S. moves on from the pandemic.

She notes that something akin to the federal government's Warp Speed program can't be relied on to work again in the same way with a different pathogen, and argues that The U.S. must continue to invest in basic virology, immunology, and vaccinology for pathogens with pandemic potential.
