The Pandemic Security Project at the Dickey Center for International Understanding aims to bring students and faculty together with leading experts from outside of Dartmouth to identify solutions and policy options to pandemic preparedness.
And so, it is particularly rewarding to see the Dartmouth International Vaccine Initiative (DIVI) coming together, not only because it addresses a central issue of pandemic preparedness, but also because – like the Pandemic Security Project – it creates another vibrant space for interdisciplinary problem solving at Dartmouth.
Answering the core question of how to turn vaccines into vaccinations can and should inspire experts at Geisel, Thayer, Tuck, and across the College to think creatively about new ways to integrate the science of early-stage vaccine designs with everything that needs to follow to ensure successful public health outcomes: downstream business plans, delivery options, messaging, and awareness campaigns.
It's work like the Dartmouth International Vaccine Initiative that will enable vaccines to reach the people who need them the most.
