About
YALI Regional Leadership Centers form part of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a signature effort to support young Africans as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa. Established through public-private partnerships, the Centers offer an experiential learning program for young Africans in three tracks: public management; civic leadership; and business and entrepreneurship. Four Regional Leadership Centers (RLCs) have been created in Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa to serve as regional hubs across the continent to encourage transformational learning and enhanced leadership skills. The RLCs are a collaborative effort between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in close partnership with the MasterCard Foundation and other private sector partners. Each RLC is managed under a public-private partnership.
The Southern Africa Center (RLC- SA) is located at the University of South Africa School of Business Leadership (Unisa SBL) in Midrand and is overseen by the University of South Africa. The RLC SA serves the following Southern African countries: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the Seychelles.
