Amy is a learning experience designer with over twenty years working in the education sector. She has lived and worked on four continents and currently splits her time between the United States and Brazil. An avid interculturalist, Amy thrives in environments that allow her to bring together diverse learners from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures. She believes truly transformative learning happens when we push our boundaries of comfort in tandem with intentional reflection.
Amy spent fifteen years as the Dickey Center's Senior Program Officer, designing and leading global learning experiences for students. She also spent eight years serving as the Academic Director of the Young African Leaders Initiative at Dartmouth, an Obama White House initiative that allowed her to design and coordinate a residential leadership program with social change makers from 40+ countries across sub-Saharan Africa. She now serves the Dickey Center as a strategic programs consultant, supporting programs such as the King Scholar's Leadership Program and the Powering Peace Initiative.
Amy is the co-founder and executive director of Compacity Partners, an education consulting firm based in Quechee, Vermont. Through Compacity Partners, she works with a range of client-partners around the world on projects related to leadership development, team and intercultural dynamics, and community impact initiatives.
She is a former AFS exchange student (Austria), Peace Corps Trainee (South Africa), and Voyage Leadership Team Member (Field Director) for Semester at Sea. Amy holds a B.F.A. (ceramics and sculpture) and an M.S. Interdisciplinary Studies (higher ed administration and community-based learning). When she isn't designing or facilitating learning experiences, she enjoys spending time with her teenage son as well as hiking, yoga, vegan cooking/baking, learning Portuguese and traveling.
