I am excited to see the culture first hand... I want to compare the architecture and accents and culture of the area. I want compare the Danish influenced culture versus the Russian influenced cultures of southeast Alaska. I enjoy carving. I have worked with stone, ivory, bone, and wood. Usually, I make jewelry like earrings, rings. Once, I had a friend that asked me to carve him a collection of fifty marbles. My work represents a hodgepodge of cultures. I have recently become interested in a particular artisan from China that intricately carves glass.
