The Global Health And Development program offers 8-10 week global health internships funded by Dartmouth's Center for Global Health Equity, explicitly co-designed with global partners each term. Undergraduate, medical, and graduate students are eligible to apply to most opportunities.
Global Health internships engage students in frontline global health and development work to address real world challenges, apply their knowledge, and hone their programmatic and research skills.
Undergraduate, medical, and graduate students are eligible to apply for most Global Health Internships opportunities. Internship candidates must have at least one term in residence remaining following the internship, and undergraduate students must have completed at least three terms on campus at the start of the internship. Students are strongly encouraged to complete one course in global health prior to applying for a Global Health Internship.
All candidates must be able to participate in Pre-departure and Health & Safety sessions the term before.
The Dickey Center Global Health Internship opportunities are explicitly co-designed with global partners each term. The Winter Term Offerings and Application are here. Deadline to apply for Winter Term is Wednesday, October 16 at 11:59pm.
Please also explore the "Build Your Own" International Internships for self-designed leave-term internships related to global health.
Past and Current Partners
The Dartmouth Global Health and Development program works with a network of partners around the world on global health research and education.
Τhe Prolepsis Institute was established in 1990 in Athens, Greece. Our mission is to respond to major public health needs of Greece and Europe by conducting rigorous academic research and translating it into education, advocacy and humanitarian projects. This mission is rooted in the belief that health equality is a necessary prerequisite for broader social justice and social inclusion. The Institute designs and implements initiatives, both at national and European level, aiming to:
• conduct research on important issues related to health and well-being, with an emphasis on epidemiology and preventive medicine,
• promote health education and health awareness,
• offer humanitarian support and services to vulnerable populations, and
• create networks for interdisciplinary and international cooperation on public health issues
